Position Overview

We are hiring a Sr Data Scientist II. The Sr Data Scientist II will conduct data analysis fully independently leading to the development of new or improved products and support customer services.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Writes code at the level of a software engineer.
  • Highly experienced in advanced ML/DL techniques, AI technologies, and predictive modeling.
  • Actively works on development of company's DS infrastructure and platforms
  • Works on the projects that have impact on Fujifilm Irvine Scientific functions
  • Strong understanding in Company’s business in different areas.
  • Actively involved in data-driven business strategy
  • Leads complex technical projects
  • Able to achieve maximum results with minimum effort.
  • Knows how to navigate the organization effectively.
  • Manages data analysis/statistical workflows within and outside the R&D.
  • Finds the right modeling approach; solves the right problem
  • Bring ideas and initiate technical discussions.
  • Proficient in managing projects progress updates
  • Learn, maintain and advance expertise in areas relevant to company’s products and strategic goals.
  • Clearly and concisely communicates ideas and gives instructions.
  • Supervises junior data scientists.

 

Required Skills/Education

  • B.S. with 10+ years or M.S. with 7+ years or Ph.D. 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • 10 + years of demonstrated proficiency in multiple programming languages with a strong foundation in a statistical platform such as Python, R, SAS, or MatLab.
  •  5+  years project experience in advanced Deep Learning/Machine learning, Artificial Intelligence and predictive modeling
  • Expertise in working with complex data models and predictive analytics
  • Expertise in visualizing and manipulating large biological and experimental datasets
  • Knowledge in Deep Learning/Machine learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Biology, Computational Chemistry, Bioinformatics or Cheminformatics.
  • Knowledge in Python, R, SAS, or MatLab
  • Knowledge in molecular Biology is a plus
  • Ability to speak, read and write English proficiently.
  • Good oral and written communication skills

 

Salary and Benefits:

  • For California, the base hourly range for this position is $123,224 - $172,635. Compensation for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience, location, etc.).
