The Role

 

The Process Operator is responsible for the unloading, sampling, particle counting, container transfers, loading of bulk tank wagons for core products, and monitoring of plant utility systems.  This individual will perform other production department duties and tasks as assigned as well as assisting packaging department as needed. This person will also be a trained member of the ERT and Confined Space Rescue Team.

Job Description

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Correctly document processes as required by standard operating procedure, including manual and electronic logs, forms, and labels.
  • Communicate equipment status and outages to the Plant Coordinator and Production Supervisor, as needed for correct, safe operation. Assist maintenance to troubleshoot and operate equipment for repair activities.
  • Participate in operational, quality, and safety reviews, as assigned.
  • Comply with all Process Safety Management (PSM) awareness and Risk Management Plan (RMP) regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in (ERT) Emergency Response Team after completing 40 Hour training.
  • Comply with all process operator certification requirements and other certification requirements, as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Entering maintenance work orders into SAP.
  • Entering NCMRs into ETQ.
  • Operate forklift and other manufacturing tools and equipment.
  • Conduct hourly rounds on all systems using tablet and software package to electronically document the process and correct any potential system deviations. React to data and trends on process to correct.
  • Assist with compounding and sampling in support of blending operations.
  • Maintain housekeeping and safety requirements in a wide range of plant operations.
  • Mentor and training of personnel for new hires as well as process changes and procedure changes.
  • Trained in site JSA and Risk Assessment programs and participates in production JSAs and Risk Assessments.
  • Perform LOTO for owned systems as defined.
  • Perform other duties, as required.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years’ chemical handling experience required or Manufacturing Technician III level competency level or higher. High purity chemical, semiconductor, or pharmaceutical experience required.
  • Ability to be fitted for and wear a respirator.
  • Must be able to obtain ERT certification and maintain ERT requirements.
  • Ability to understand chemical compounding and sampling and communicate results effectively.
  • 6-8 years’ fork truck experience on either sit down or stand-up fork trucks.
  • Experience in operating a forklift and other manufacturing tools.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Knowledge of ETQ.
  • 40-Hour ERT trained.
  • Confined Space trained.
  • PSM/RMP Awareness certification.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrated abilities to work independently and as a team.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., stoop, bend, climb and reach.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work varied shifts to include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, including weekends.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

PAY RANGE: The pay range for this role is estimated at $24.00/hr. - $26.00/hr. with actual wage based on candidate’s qualifications and experience.
