Position Overview

The Digital Marketing Operations Director is a global role requiring proven experience in developing, executing, managing, and optimizing the marketing technology stack and ecosystem. This critical role within the Global Marketing team is responsible for implementing best practices, recommending, developing and implementing standardized processes, and effectively managing digital operations across the marketing technology platforms. The individual will develop and implement a marketing technology ecosystem and roadmap, maintain SEO optimized webpages, configure lead capture platforms for events, identify, develop and execute marketing automation programs to support omni-channel demand generation campaigns, and create and deliver timely, accurate, and insightful reporting and analytics across the managed platforms empowering the Global Marketing team to achieve optimal results.

 

Reporting to the VP Global Marketing, the individual will lead a team in executing the digital marketing technology stack, continuously monitoring digital marketing performance and identifying areas for improvement by collaborating with Strategic Marketing and other members of the marketing team to regularly test new tools, campaign strategies and features, analyze data and implement changes to optimize the customer journey. Your expertise in digital platforms will play a crucial role in enhancing the customer user experience, increasing engagement, and driving conversions.

The Digital Marketing Operations Director is a global role requiring proven experience in developing, executing, managing, and optimizing the marketing technology stack and ecosystem. Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing, executing, managing, and optimizing the marketing digital platform ecosystem by applying best practices, recommending, developing and implementing processes for standardization and managing the digital platforms efficiently
  • Develop and implement a marketing technology ecosystem and roadmap that aligns with Global Marketing objectives.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive digital marketing strategies aligned with company objectives and Strategic Marketing plans for each service offering to increase brand awareness, drive web traffic, customer engagement, and to generate high-quality marketing leads (MQLs) within the biopharma industry.
  • Serve as the main point of escalation for all marketing digital platform related inquiries and concerns.
  • Manage third-party providers and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, including GDPR and CCPA, by implementing robust data protection and privacy measures, conducting regular audits, and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Oversee and execute digital marketing omni-channel demand generation campaigns in collaboration with the Strategic Marketing team and Social Media Manager across various channels, including but not limited to search engine marketing (SEM), search engine optimization (SEO), email marketing, advertising, webinars, events and third-party platforms.
  • Utilize Google Analytics, Sales Force, Tableau, Business Objects, Data Bricks and other data analytics tools to track, measure, analyze and report the performance of demand generation campaign strategies, identifying areas for improvement and to optimize conversion rates. Report insights to marketing team, stakeholders and Senior Leadership.
  • Create marketing dashboards that deliver timely, accurate and insightful information by service offering, campaign, region, tactic, customer segment and line of business to empower Strategic Marketing team to optimize results. Build clear processes and procedures for efficient and effective management of the digital platform ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with Sales Force team to ensure marketing campaigns, dashboards and reports collect and accurately measure marketing qualified leads (MQLS), conversion rates to sales qualified leads (SQLs), opportunities and conversions throughout the sales cycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align digital marketing operations efforts with overall business objectives and support lead generation and customer acquisition initiatives. Manage all digital projects and tactics seamlessly through to execution.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in digital marketing, data privacy, and biotech industry developments, and implement innovative technology strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Manage and budget for any additional insourced and outsourced support resources needed to execute the Digital Marketing Operations strategy
  • Manage and lead direct report staff by example for optimal job performance and delivery of high-quality work product. Recruit, train, mentor, appraise direct report(s) in accordance with our talent management philosophy and processes. Ensure priorities, goals and objectives of staff are aligned with the Marketing and Commercial Strategy, and the organization’s business goals

Skills & Education Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, IT or related field – Essential
  • A minimum of 15 years relevant work experience in Digital Marketing Operations within a global B2B services company - Essential 
  • Expert understanding of Digital Marketing Platforms, Web Content Management Systems, UX, Digital Analytic Tools, Marketing Automation, Email Marketing (Marketo), Sales Force, SEO, SEM, Google Analytics and other marketing technology platforms - Essential 
  • Proven ability to establish a marketing technology ecosystem, roadmap strategy, and data dictionary to ensure data integrity and integration across the marketing platforms ecosystem.
  • Strong and proven leadership skills, ability to build effective relationships, influence key stakeholders and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors - Essential 
  • A strong understanding of data structures, governance, and privacy.
  • Expert understanding of data privacy regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA, and experience implementing data privacy and protection measures in digital marketing campaigns and platforms.
  • Prior experience in the biotech/biopharma B2B industry or a strong interest in the field is highly desirable

The US salary base range for this position is $X to $X. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
