Position Overview

Position Summary:  The Vice President & General Manager (VP & GM) of Fujifilm Inkjet Integration Systems (FIIS) will have full profit and loss (P&L) responsibility for Fujifilm Dimatix’s (FDMX) Systems Integration business unit. This leadership position oversees strategic business planning, operational management, technology development, engineering, supply chain, program management, field support, and organizational growth.

The VP & GM will be responsible for developing and executing business strategies that drive growth, innovation, and continuous improvement, with a focus on customer satisfaction, quality, and operational excellence. This role also collaborates with satellite teams in Europe and Japan to ensure alignment with global business objectives in a cross-functional, matrixed organization.

The successful candidate will act as a strategic leader and operational expert, establishing metrics, policies, and performance goals to achieve the organization's revenue and cost objectives. This role requires decisive leadership, a focus on continuous improvement, and the ability to build and lead high-performance teams in a dynamic, global environment.

Job Description

 

 

SCOPE

Responsible for the P&L of the FDMX FIIS business and for coordination and oversight of satellite inkjet integration businesses worldwide.  Sets vision and direction through resource allocation decisions for a significant organization or business unit. Executive responsible for multiple functions, departments, and geographic marketplaces. Develops and implements strategic plans and objectives for the organization in alignment with corporate strategy; oversees direction and approves tactical administrative or operational policies and resource allocation decisions to ensure achievement of objectives. 

COMPLEXITY

Develops strategic plans to ensure successful achievement of business objectives.  Implements action plans and analyzes situations and data requiring an in-depth knowledge of the company, competitive environment, technology and economic or social implications of organization activities. Participates in development of corporate methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people. Approves budgets and schedules to meet corporate requirements.

DISCRETION & IMPACT

Strategic decisions are critical to functional/area performance and have medium-term impact. Manages change and develops risk mitigation plans. Responsibilities will be global. Translates strategy into medium-term focus (1–3 years) and long-term (3-5 years) action plans.

INTERACTION

Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers. Interactions frequently involve highly visible activities such as speaking to or negotiating with customers, influencing other executives and decision makers, as well as representing the organization on matters of great significance to the business.

MANAGE CUSTOMER RELATIONS

Develops and maintain relationships, identifies customer opportunities, negotiates contracts, resolves customer concerns, delivers customer-centered value, monitors industry and customer trends and creates customer-focused strategies.  By effectively managing customer relationships, the role ensures high levels of engagement, customer satisfaction, and long-term loyalty, contributing to the organization's growth and reputation in the industry.

SUPERVISION

Directs and controls the activities of a complete functional area through multiple levels of management within the company. Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and approving changes to methods and practices.  Reports to CEO and President.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSITILITIES:

Business Leadership

  • Develop and execute short-term and long-term strategies to grow revenue, improve efficiency, and ensure overall financial performance of the FIIS business.
  • Provide strong leadership and vision to the Systems Integration business unit, fostering innovation, accountability, and performance excellence.
  • Align and coordinate functional objectives—including product roadmaps, supply chain, field support, and engineering—with overall corporate goals.

Operational Management

  • Responsible for manufacturing, procurement, inventory management, logistics, and quality processes, ensuring operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Support the development and execution of lean manufacturing strategies, using tools such as Six Sigma and other CI methodologies to improve productivity, efficiency, and quality.

Strategic Development

  • Identify, develop, and negotiate high-impact strategic partnerships and acquisitions that align with business growth and profitability objectives.
  • Create and oversee product roadmaps to ensure competitive, timely delivery of innovative products that meet customer needs.
  • Support international initiatives across satellite teams in Europe and Japan, ensuring global alignment and consistency.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Build and sustain strong relationships with cross-functional leaders, including Sales, Marketing, R&D, and Customer Service, to support product launches, customer success, and revenue growth.
  • Establish systems to collect operational and financial metrics, analyze results, and set performance targets for key business areas.
  • Interface and report out to business owners and shareholders at Fujifilm Holdings.

Talent and Team Development

  • Recruit, train, and develop leadership talent within the FIIS business unit to ensure a highly skilled, motivated, and engaged workforce.
  • Cultivate a high-performance work culture by promoting teamwork, open communication, and accountability.
  • Coach and mentor employees at all levels to support professional development and organizational success.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, manage, and develop departmental leadership to ensure optimal performance across all functional areas.
  • Evaluate and assess employees regularly, setting clear performance expectations and identifying opportunities for growth and development.

REQUIRED:

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in executive leadership roles with responsibility for P&L and operational performance within a global, technical business environment (10+ years).
  • Experience in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning and execution, including revenue and profit growth strategies.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience with managing complex contracts and strategic partnerships.
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams in a collaborative, matrixed organizational structure.
  • Experience managing supply chains, sourcing, and delivering complex technical products.

Competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • High emotional intelligence, with the ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence executive-level stakeholders internally and externally.

DESIRED:

 

  • Advanced degree preferred (MBA or a technical field).
  • Certifications in Lean Manufacturing or APICS (Association for Supply Chain Management).
  • Experience in capital equipment sales or a related field.
