The Role

 

The QC Laboratory Supervisor manages the day to day operations of the laboratory and the technicians and chemists who analyze semiconductor materials in support of production qualification and supports lab strategic initiatives.

Job Description

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Oversees day-to-day work activities of laboratory personnel; prepares work schedules for lab personnel; provides direction to lab technicians; schedules testing, sampling, etc. Analyze raw materials, intermediates, and final products following company processes and procedures.
  • Completes a high volume of work with limited supervision.
  • Maintains laboratory records and documentation; prepares technical reports on lab activity
  • Maintains, repairs, troubleshoots and schedules maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment
  • Establishes EH&S processes and procedures; implements lab’s safety and chemical hygiene programs
  • Ensures all SOP's and Quality Control Procedures are followed.
  • Maintains and requisitions lab supplies and equipment; ensures supplies and consumables are kept at acceptable levels; minimizes spending; negotiates with vendors
  • Calibrates instruments to ensure quality control, runs routine laboratory tests
  • Trains lab technicians on procedures and techniques
  • Prioritizes daily workflow based on input from production and outside sources. Ensures all SOP's and Quality Control Procedures are followed.
  • Investigate non-compliance test results to assure the substance meets internal and external specifications.
  • Maintains a high level of customer service and a team environment with QC Lab and Site members.
  • Schedules workload efficiently; verifies all necessary tests are completed in a timely manner.
  • Review analytical long-term stability charts to assure laboratory equipment meet fit-for-use criteria.
  • Leads and support improvement projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Review and update laboratory documents consistent with Good Laboratory Practices.
  • Focuses on quality and integrity of samples in accordance with strict purity guidelines.
  • Monitors product quality throughout testing
  • Support all lab shifts as needed and perform other duties, as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a production lab environment.
  • A minimum of 2 years previous supervisory or managerial experience required.
  • Instrumentation experience preferred with tools such as ICP/MS, GC, UV-Vis, KF, IC, HPLC, or liquid particle counters.
  • Experience using Good Lab Practices.
  • Statistical based software and ERP experience preferred.
  • Must be able to multi-task and handle change in priorities.
  • Good communication skills within different functional groups.
  • Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work varied shifts to include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, including weekends.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

PAY RANGE: The pay range for this role is estimated at $85,000/yr. - $95,000/yr. with actual wage based on candidate’s qualifications and experience.
