The Role

 

The Pilot Plant Lab Technician supports process development and production of low-volume products. Responsibilities include assisting with pilot-scale trials, LVM productions and preparation of customer samples. The technician also ensures safe operations, follows protocols, and collaborates with the team to meet project goals.

Job Description

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Support CMP Pilot plant and LVM MFG batch process.
  • Product builds which include raw material charging and monitoring process tanks
  • Prepare new drums and totes for filling, including labeling.
  • Fill and package drums and totes.
  • Sample and test production material.
  • Obtain forklift certification and perform material handling operations as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for products, intermediates, downpacks and relabels, as required by standard operating procedures, including manual and electronic logs, forms, and labels.
  • Must be capable of making necessary mechanical connections for tank systems.
  • Communicate equipment status and outages to the supervision, as needed for correct, safe operation. Assist maintenance to troubleshoot and operate equipment for repair activities.
  • Maintain job associated certifications and tasks above the basic level. Maintain EHS and other facility training current.
  • Assist with operational, quality, and safety reviews, as assigned.
  • Down-pack and/or relabel products into totes, drums/pails as needed to support customer requirements.
  • Conduct sample shipments as needed to support customers, FFMT, FETW, FEKR or others.
  • Execute special projects to support CMP HVM, Wet Lab and others.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Demonstrated abilities to work independently and as a team
  • 0-2 years manufacturing experience in related industry
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to lift at 60 lbs.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization
  • Must have a valid Arizona drivers’ license and clean driving record
  • This is a safety-sensitive position that requires candidates to successfully pass a post-offer drug screening prior to employment. One of the essential job functions is the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

 

Preferred

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Good computer skills, Microsoft, SAP, LIMS
