Position Overview

Act as the local Compliance Officer for both of Fujifilm Biotechnologies sites in North Carolina region.  In addition, they will be the main Compliance contact / support for any questions / requirements for Fujifilm Biotechnologies.

 

Job Description

What You'll Do

  • Set up and maintain Compliance requirements for any US Government contracting across all Fujifilm Biotechnologies sites, tailoring the requirements to the specific site and contract set up. This is to ensure that we meet the requirements specifically set out for any government funded contracts.
  • Assist the Legal team during contract negotiations with customers, when they are funded through the US government. This is to ensure we know of the requirements due to that funding source from the outset and develop the contract accordingly.
  • Lead or assist in any Compliance investigations related to processes and employees based in the North Carolina region. They will ensure that we fully investigate all matters raised to the Compliance function appropriately and in accordance with the Fujifilm Holdings US policy.
  • Ensure all Fujifilm Biotechnologies employees within the North Carolina region complete all training assigned by Fujifilm Holdings US regional headquarters, so that the sites in this region meet the requirements set out by the Fujifilm Holdings US Compliance program and other requirements flowed down to Fujifilm Holdings US from the corporate headquarters.
  • Deliver all requests for certification on Compliance topics as requested by Fujifilm Holdings US regional headquarters, so that the sites in this region meet the requirements set out by the Fujifilm Holdings US Compliance program and other requirements flowed down to Fujifilm Holdings US from the corporate headquarters.
  • Report promptly all risks identified in the North Carolina region to Fujifilm Holdings US, to meet Fujifilm Biotechnologies requirement on risk reporting set out by the corporate headquarters.
  • Deliver site specific awareness on Compliance topics, as identified through working with the site leadership and wider Compliance team. This is to ensure all employees know of and understand those topics.
  • Engage with Fujifilm Biotechnologies North Carolina employees to ensure they understand the reporting routes outlined in the Raising a Concern (Speak Up) policy.
  • Assist and support the Director of Compliance, U.S. with the roll-out of Fujifilm Holdings US Compliance initiatives / activities.
  • Assist the Trade Compliance Senior Manager with the upkeep of Trade Compliance policies and training for the Fujifilm Biotechnologies North Carolina region sites.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with an accredited 4-year institution in Business Administration or a pertinent field.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience, including 2+ years of experience working in government contracting compliance and 4+ years of compliance-related matters
  • Demonstrated experience in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology/manufacturing environment or equivalent preferred
  • Advanced degree preferred

Impact & Decision Making:

  • Impact/influence/liaise with all levels of those based in the North Carolina region, as well as any global employee that is performing activities for or within the NC region. 
  • Will manage all Compliance activities for the North Carolina region with limited support from the Director of Corporate Compliance (US).
  • Work with Fujifilm Holdings US to ensure the two North Carolina region sites are in compliance with their policies and requirements to meet their Compliance program.
  • The role in government contracting is vital for the future growth in this area for Fujifilm Biotechnologies.  Erroneous work performed may have financial and contractual implications for Fujifilm Biotechnologies.
  • Strong communication skills and good judgment are both necessary – need to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Responsible to make decisions during investigations and also when advising the employees / business on how to comply with Compliance policies.
  • Ability to make decisions on how best to engage with the business to best support it.

 

 

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

  • The job holder must be able to regularly work from both FLBU and FLBN sites, and able to traverse the site to meet employees at their places of work.  Role is primarily office based.
  • Ability to discern audible cues.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time up to 30 minutes.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time up to 120 minutes.
  • Ability to conduct activities using repetitive motions that include wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Ability to conduct work that includes moving objects up to 10 pounds.
