Job Description

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assemble electro-mechanical devices, systems, and components in compliance with engineering drawings, assembly procedures, and work instructions.
  • Perform wiring, soldering, crimping, and other electrical and mechanical tasks with precision and attention to detail.
  • Assemble cables and wiring harnesses as specified on drawings.
  • Manufacture hose assemblies and fittings as specified on drawings.
  • Perform bench level testing of assemblies and sub-assemblies when required.
  • Replenish floor stock materials within the working cell and work bench.
  • Ensure working area is clean at the end of the day (trash and cut/discard cupboard boxes).
  • Support other departments as needed.
  • Perform monthly torque wrench(es) verification.
  • Perform monthly housekeeping tasks.
  • Empty trash cans and cardboard bins from common areas.
  • Comply with all applicable U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) medical device regulatory requirements, applicable ISO standard requirements and all other applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Complete other task not stated in the job description assigned by authorized company personnel.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • 2 or more years in vocational training on electromechanical or mechanical.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing principles.
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in a mechanical and electro-mechanical position preferred.
  • 2 - 4 years of experience using hand-held crimpers, cutters, strippers, soldering iron, and power tools.
  • 2 - 4 years of soldering experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • IPC 610 and 620 certifications preferred.
  • Proficient with using torque wrenches and basic hand tools.
  • Proficient with computer software packages including MS office (Excel/Word).
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Ability to troubleshoot down to the component level.
  • High mechanical aptitude.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of the role and effectively utilizes knowledge and skills to successfully perform a variety of tasks in an electro-mechanical assembly environment.
  • Handles moderately challenging tasks, utilizing judgement to resolve issues or provide recommendations to improve assembly processes or procedures.
  • Preforms daily assigned work independently with minimal guidance or supervision, requires general instructions or supervision only when assigned new tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

 

The position requires the ability to perform the following physical demands and/or have the listed capabilities:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Fine manual dexterity is required.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Ability to use close vision.
  • Ability to tolerate loud conditions occasionally.

Travel

  • None required.
