We are hiring an IT AI/ML Engineer. The AI/ML Engineer will assist in building and supporting AI/ML platforms and driving the adoption of FF available AI-enabled solutions. They will also act as an advisor to the organization and individual departments to understand their business challenges, determine if AI/ML tools can help deliver value, and help in design, deployment, and maintenance of the associate infrastructures.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Translating technical concepts: Communicate how AI-powered solutions deliver value-driven business results.
  • Solution Architecture: Develop and present comprehensive solutions for demonstration that incorporate AI (Agents, Generative, LLM, etc.), integration methodologies, reporting, and analytics.
  • Leading Voice: Staying informed about AI and technology advancements and contributing as a subject matter expert to initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver impactful presentations and demonstrations that showcase available technology based on user requirements.
  • Assume a leadership role and provide exceptional AI/ML architecture support for the enterprise, including:
    • Creation and management of AI/ML development and production infrastructure, servers, services and resources on-premise Windows/Linux and Azure cloud instance.
    • Support R&D Data Sciences (DS) team in analysis and interpretation of results to guide and optimize the process.
    • Setup on-premise resources for testing and automate AI infrastructures for the DS team.
    • Help build AI models and help DS and other stakeholders with analysis and implementation.
    • Support the transformation of machine learning models into APIs that can be integrated with other applications in FF Azure.
    • Collaborate across IT, R&D, FHICT, and other Fujifilm entity teams to help with AI/ML adoption and best practices.
    • Optimizing resource utilization and implementing cost-saving measures.
    • Providing technical support and guidance to DS and IT on AI/ML related issues.
    • Develop and maintain documentation for AI/ML architectures, procedures, and training materials.
    • Defect Management – initiate and work through the processes and activities to identify, research, prioritize, assign, monitor, and resolve defects.
    • CICE Management – support ongoing Continual Improvement and Continual Enhancement (CICE) activities.
    • Manage communications with business users, project teams and technical staff.
    • Support the development and improvement of SOPs and Training materials. Supports the harmonization of SAP SOPs, DTIs, and Training materials for customer service functions across all FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific locations, sites, and subsidiaries.
    • Support the execution of organization trainings on new or changed processes.
    • Schedule and conduct technical meetings with business members, other Fujifilm entities, and FISI / HLUS IT as needed to progress agenda. Document and share meetings and progress details. Report on system and project status, and issues directly and indirectly relevant to area of expertise.
  • Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions, report routinely against objectives and established KPI’s/goals.
  • Support the digital transformation by serving as the primary SME on AI/ML integral to business unit activities.
  • Manage the completion, organization, and maintenance of all required work, documentation, reports, and records to meet compliance standards.

Required Skills/Education:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, AI, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2+ years of experience applying AI as business solutions with concepts such as Agents, LLMs, machine learning and natural language processing, and related programming.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in an Information Technology-related field.
  • Experience in life science, biopharma, or related industry is preferred.
  • Experience in a multi-site, multinational manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Solid understanding AI Ops / Cloud Ops, cloud architecture, data security, reporting, and integration standards.
  • Proficient skills in the following areas:
    • Network protocols and security best practices.
    • Management of server infrastructure (physical and virtual)
    • Programming languages: Python, Perl, Bash, Java, C++, C#, PowerShell
    • Version control – Git, GitHub
  • Strong training skills, with the ability to effectively convey features and benefits through engaging presentations and interactive demonstrations.
  • Experience in departmental procedures, regulations, and documentation.
  • Ability to learn business requirements and use data systems to address business needs.
  • Ability to analyze data and determine trends.
  • Project management skills.
  • Experience with pharma and/or medical device highly desired.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; effective presentation skills.

Salary and Benefits:

  • For California, the base salary range for this position is $82,353 - $107,363 annually. Compensation for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience, location, etc.).
