Position Description

 

We are hiring an IT Azure Cloud Engineer. The Azure Cloud Engineer will assist in building and supporting Azure Cloud solutions and drive the adoption of FF available platforms. They will also act as an advisor to the organization and individual departments to understand their business challenges, determine if Azure tools can help deliver value, and help in design, deployment, and maintenance of the associated infrastructures.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Translating technical concepts: You'll communicate how Azure solutions deliver value-driven business results.
  • Solution Architecture: Develop and present comprehensive solutions for demonstration that incorporate Azure tools, integrations to existing data/platforms and FF entities, as well as reporting and analytics.
  • Leading Voice: Staying informed about Azure technology advancements and contributing as a subject matter expert to initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver impactful presentations and demonstrations that showcase available technology based on user requirements.
  • Assume a leadership role and provide exceptional Azure Cloud architecture support for the enterprise, including:
    • Designing and implementing scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions on the Azure platform.
    • Managing and monitoring cloud infrastructures to ensure optimal performance and cost-efficiency.
    • Automating cloud deployments and configuration management using Azure DevOps, PowerShell, and ARM templates.
    • Ensuring data protection and compliance with relevant laws and regulations through Azure security features.
    • Collaborating with IT-R&D-FHICT to integrate cloud services into software applications
    • Conducting disaster recovery planning and implementing backup strategies to maintain data integrity.
    • Optimizing resource utilization and implementing cost-saving measures.
    • Providing technical support and guidance to DS and IT on cloud-related issues.
    • Developing and maintaining documentation for cloud architectures, procedures, and training materials.
    • Facilitating the migration of legacy systems to the Azure cloud platform per FHICT global strategic initiative.
    • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services with business processes.

Required Skills/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2+ years of experience applying Azure Cloud services and products as business solutions with concepts related to DevOps, Business Analytics, AI and ML, and data consolidation and interconnecting data and computing capabilities.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in an Information Technology-related field.
  • Experience in life science, biopharma, or related industry is preferred.
  • Experience in a multi-site, multinational manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Solid understanding Azure Cloud Ops and computing capabilities, cloud architecture, data security, reporting, and integration standards.
  • A deep understanding of core Azure services like Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Functions, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
  • Knowledge of integrating, managing, monitoring and troubleshooting both public (Azure) and private cloud/on-premise infrastructures.
  • Proficient skills in the following areas:
    • Network protocols and security best practices.
    • Management of server infrastructure (physical and virtual)
    • Programming languages: PowerShell/Azure CLI
    • Version control – Git, GitHub
  • Strong training skills, with the ability to effectively convey features and benefits through engaging presentations and interactive demonstrations.
  • Experience in departmental procedures, regulations, and documentation.
  • Ability to learn business requirements and use data systems to address business needs.
  • Ability to analyze data and determine trends.
  • Project management skills.
  • Experience with pharma and/or medical device highly desired.

 

Salary and Benefits:

  • For California, the base salary range for this position is $85,353- $107,363 annually. Compensation for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience, location, etc.).
