The Assistant Operations Manager supports the Operations Manager in the day-to-day execution of operational activities within the Optical Devices organization. This role is designed to provide operational continuity, cross-functional coordination, and hands-on execution across inventory, logistics, systems, and process support. The position does not have direct reports but acts as a key operational partner and backup to the Operations Manager.

Works with rough schematics, blueprints and oral instructions to construct developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components. May perform rework. Work typically includes interaction with development and/or manufacturing engineering personnel. Self-starter with little supervision and able to work with little documentation. Can also create documentation and outline assembly sequences and procedures.

The Role
The Packaging Supervisor will supervise assigned packaging personnel in the completion of the packaging schedule. This individual will serve as the liaison between the Manufacturing Manager, Production Planners and Packaging personnel. The Packaging Supervisor will review procedures, recommend and make improvements in packaging operations through procedure edits and TWIs. This individual will train personnel, perform all supervisory functions for subordinate personnel and plan packaging material requirements. This individual will participate in the FMEA, 8d investigations, and Control Plan process. Have the ability to generate NCMRs, and revise procedures. Must be 40-hour Hazwoper trained. This person will also fill in for the Manufacturing Manager as needed.

Performs routine experiments for process or research and development engineering and records and reports the results. In addition, this position performs diversified mechanical, electromechanical, chemical or electronic technical duties in fabrication, testing, debugging and documentation. Supports engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. Applications may include electronic circuits, photonics and logic systems. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
